North Texas Legends FC was born out of the streets, schoolyards, and soccer fields of Denton — where the game wasn’t just a pastime, it was a lifeline. Founder Richard Aguirre spent years with Denton G.O.A.L., a nonprofit using soccer to reach at-risk youth, giving them purpose, structure, and a sense of belonging when they needed it most. But he saw a problem — a big one. When these young players graduated high school, the opportunities dried up. No more teams. No more games. No more goals to chase. Talent was going to waste, and dreams were slipping away — not because of a lack of heart, but because of a lack of access. So Richard decided enough was enough. He founded North Texas Legends FC to create a new path — one built for the hungry, the overlooked, the hard-working kids who refused to give up. Through competitive leagues like the UPSL and MPL, NTX Legends gives these players a shot to keep going, to compete, to rise. We’re not about fancy facilities or big budgets. We’re about grit, passion, and community. This club was built for the underdogs — and we’re here to prove that legends aren’t born… they’re built.
